Tim Baldwin is serves as clinical operations and compliance officer, overseeing all UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinics. Tim is an ABC-certified fitter of orthotics, certified orthotic assistant, and BOC-certified athletic trainer. He has previously worked in various settings within the Orthotics and Prosthetics department, including the Orthopaedic Institute, Mt. Zion inpatient, Redwood Shores, and Mission Bay Hospital, providing inpatient and ambulatory pediatric and adult care.
Lacie Charaschirakul is a dedicated professional in the field of orthotics and prosthetics, committed to delivering exceptional care and advancing knowledge in the discipline. With a diverse background in athletic training, orthotics, and extensive clinical experience, Lacie has developed a specialized focus in pediatric and adult orthotics.
Aarti serves as the clinical manager of the UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic Center at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She received her Bachelor of Science in orthotics and prosthetics from Mumbai University, completing her residency at the All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Mumbai in 2000. She then worked for Endolite, a prosthetic clinic specializing in lower extremity prostheses, where she grew the practice and served patients throughout the western region of India.
Matthew Garibaldi serves as an Associate Clinical Professor and as the Director of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF. He oversees his division’s activities in patient care, research, and education.
In his research, Garibaldi investigates the validation of prosthetic assessment tools, formulates prosthetic patient preference surveys for regulatory purposes, and conducts quality of life outcomes research for experimental prosthetic technology.
Nicole Henry is a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) at the ZSFG Orthotics and Prosthetics Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Physiology and Anatomy at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. She then went on to receive a Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Alex Hetherington is a Certified Prosthetist in the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) Centers. He provides patient care and customized devices for children and adults with limb loss and limb differences. Alex specializes in lower and upper extremity devices, new prosthetic technology, innovative socket designs, and sport-specific applications.
Chrysta Irolla was first introduced to the field of orthotics and prosthetics while pursuing her bioengineering degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Through the universities global biomedical service program, Chrysta traveled to southern China and and worked with CP and transtibial amputee patients in partnership with Hong Kong Polytechnic University O&P program. She went on to earn her MS from Northwestern University in Engineering Design and Innovation and her MS from The Georgia Institute of Technology in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Maria Lesieutre was introduced to the field of prosthetics and orthotics as an undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University. Through her undergraduate research working with people with spinal cord injuries, she began spending time at the prosthetics and orthotics department at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veteran's Administration Hospital. She attended graduate school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medial Center. She then completed both her orthotic and prosthetic residencies at the University of California San Francisco.
ABC certified Orthotics/Prosthetist with a specialty in pediatrics. Currently servicing both out-patient and in-patient at UCSFs Mission Bay Hospital and Benioff Childrens Hospital-San Francisco. Clinical approach includes collaboration with all members of the patient's care team, most importantly including the family. This optimizes functional outcomes for the patient beyond the hospital doors.
After training and performing as a professional dancer, Annie got into the field of athletic training to help active individuals face their injuries and return to play. She has over a decade of experience as a strength and conditioning coach. Prior to working in Orthotics and Prosthetics at the Parnassus campus, she worked for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Oakland as a high school athletic trainer.
Heidi Truman is an ABC certified Orthotist/Prosthetist, specializing in pediatric orthotics. She sees patients at the Mission Bay and Parnassus Heights locations, and is the pediatric orthotic services clinical manager. She is the Residency Director for the UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic Center and serves on the National Commission on Orthotics and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) board of directors. Heidi co-authored “Orthotic Evaluation and Prescription” in Umphred’s Neurological Rehabilitation textbook. Her interests include pediatric orthotics, clinical training, and clinical education.
